Overview

We are seeking dedicated and passionate Chefs and Commis Chefs to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in food preparation and cooking, with a keen eye for food safety and hygiene standards. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your culinary skills within a professional hospitality environment, working alongside experienced chefs to deliver exceptional dining experiences. The position is paid and suitable for individuals eager to grow their career in the culinary arts.

Duties

Assist in the preparation and cooking of a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards
Support senior chefs in food production, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality meals
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, adhering to food safety regulations
Prepare ingredients and assist with plating to ensure presentation standards are met
Supervise junior kitchen staff when required, providing guidance and support in food preparation tasks
Monitor stock levels and communicate shortages or replenishment needs to management
Ensure all kitchen equipment is used safely and maintained properly
Contribute to the development of new menu items under supervision, showcasing creativity and culinary flair

Experience

Previous experience in a professional kitchen environment, ideally within a restaurant or hospitality setting but training will be given
Proven skills in food production, cooking, and food safety practices
Supervising experience or team management skills are desirable but not essential; willingness to lead and mentor others is valued
Knowledge of culinary techniques, food presentation, and restaurant service standards
Familiarity with health and safety regulations relevant to kitchen operations
Experience with food preparation, serving, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organisation within a busy kitchen environment
