Job Description

Job Title: Electrical Test Engineer
Job Type: Permanent
Location: Buxton
Hours: 37.5 Hours a week 9am - 5pm
Salary: Competitive + Bonus

As an Electrical Test Engineer, you will carry out electrical safety testing across a wide range of products, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and ISO/IEC 17025 requirements.
Working both in the laboratory and on-site, you’ll deliver accurate, high-quality test results and certification documentation.
You will play a key role in supporting accreditation, maintaining equipment, and ensuring projects are delivered to client expectations.
This is an excellent opportunity to develop technical expertise within a highly respected testing and compliance environment.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct electrical product testing in the laboratory and at client sites, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and procedures
Produce accurate test reports and certification documentation in line with accreditation and quality requirements
Manage workload effectively to meet project timelines, budgets, and departmental targets
Support the calibration and maintenance of test equipment to ensure compliance with quality systems
Maintain high standards of health & safety, housekeeping, and adherence to company policies and procedures

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you’ll need proven experience as an Electrical Test Engineer or have experience in a similar role within a relevant industry, with recent experience in the use of test and measuring equipment (e.g. multimeters, oscilloscope).

Essential

Bachelor or Master Degree in electrical engineering, or equivalent
Alternative HNC/HND in electrical engineering with relevant work experience

Desirable

Full Driving Licence for use in the UK
Familiarity with EU/UK safety directives
