Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Commis Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for food preparation and cooking, with a keen eye for food safety and hygiene standards. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your culinary skills within a professional hospitality environment, working alongside experienced chefs to deliver exceptional dining experiences. The position involves supporting the kitchen team in daily operations, ensuring high-quality food production, and maintaining a clean and organised workspace.

Responsibilities

Assist in food preparation and cooking under the supervision of senior chefs
Support the team in delivering high standards of food quality and presentation
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times
Help with the organisation of ingredients, supplies, and kitchen equipment
Contribute to maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient kitchen environment
Support in supervising junior staff or trainees when required
Participate in menu planning and development activities as directed by senior chefs
Serve food to customers in a professional manner when necessary
Assist with stock control, inventory checks, and ordering supplies as needed

Requirements

Previous experience in a kitchen environment or hospitality setting is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate
Demonstrable culinary experience, including food preparation and cooking skills
Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
Strong organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
Leadership qualities with experience supervising or managing team members preferred
Excellent communication skills and team management abilities
Passion for hospitality and delivering outstanding customer service
Ability to work flexibly within a fast-paced environment, including weekends if required
Relevant qualifications or certifications in culinary arts or hospitality are advantageous but not mandatory

Pay: £24,420.00-£37,975.20 per year
