Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and versatile Multi-task Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering goods efficiently while performing various additional tasks to support operational needs. This role requires excellent driving skills, strong communication, and the ability to handle physical demands such as heavy lifting. The ideal applicant will have experience in commercial driving and delivery, with a proactive approach to maintenance and safety.
Duties
- Safely operate company vehicles, including lorries and vans, for local and regional deliveries
- Plan and execute efficient routes to ensure timely deliveries
- Load and unload goods, often requiring heavy lifting, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and basic maintenance to ensure optimal performance
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and team members regarding delivery schedules or issues
- Assist with warehouse tasks or other operational duties as required
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries and vehicle logs
- Adhere strictly to road safety regulations and company policies at all times
- Loading and unloading of materials and debris from sites/jobs and yard.
- Clearing sites/jobs of general construction waste
- Stock/materials loading and unloading yard/re-stocking materials
- Collection of materials/stock from suppliers
- Cleaning of yard and warehouse including stock rooms
- Occasional basic painting duties
Applicant will require the following:
UTR number for payment
Full UK driving license
Previous experience of driving 3.5t trucks
Can do positive attitude
Good time keeping
Punctual and reliable
Job hours- 07.30 to 17.00 Monday to Friday
Rates pending candidate.
Office location close to tube and station. (No parking availbale at office/yard)
Qualifications
- Valid <PERSON> driver’s licence with a clean driving record
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Excellent communication skills for liaising with clients and team members
- Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting skills
- Organised, punctual, and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Good physical fitness to handle physically demanding aspects of the role
- Prior experience in driving or logistics is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for specific operational procedures
Pay: £13.00-£14.75 per hour
