We are looking for an experienced, organised and people-focused Head Receptionist to join the team at Rowe Yate Surgery on a part time basis, supporting and leading our team of six receptionists.
Rowe Vet Group have a 24-hour hospital in Bradley Stoke and branches in Thornbury, Yate, Winterbourne, Brimsham and Wotton-under-Edge. As a valued member of the reception team, you will be the first point of contact for pets and their owners.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys the variety of veterinary reception work but is also ready to take the next step into a leadership and coordination role.
As Head Receptionist, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of our reception team. You will continue to provide a high standard of client care and reception support while taking responsibility for the day-to-day organisation and management of the reception team.
General responsibilities include:
- Leading and supporting a team of six receptionists.
- Providing a friendly, professional and compassionate service to our clients and their pets.
- Carrying out the full range of veterinary reception duties, including answering calls, booking appointments, dealing with client enquiries and supporting the clinical team.
- Preparing and managing the reception team rota, ensuring appropriate staffing levels and cover.
- Managing and approving annual leave requests in line with business requirements.
- Supporting team members with day-to-day queries, concerns and development.
- Conducting regular performance reviews and providing constructive feedback and support.
- Helping to identify training and development needs within the reception team.
- Supporting the implementation of group policies, procedures and initiatives.
- Working closely with the practice leadership team to maintain high standards of client service and operational efficiency.
- Helping to promote a positive, supportive and collaborative team environment.
Monday 1-7.30pm, Tuesday/Thursday & Friday 8-2.30pm with a share in the Bank Holiday rota based at main hospital in Bradley Stoke.
We are looking for someone who is confident, approachable and highly organised, with excellent communication skills and a genuine passion for delivering outstanding client care. You will ideally have previous experience within a veterinary reception environment, with an understanding of the demands and pace of a busy veterinary practice. Previous supervisory or team leadership experience would be an advantage.
