WHAT IS THE POST THAT ARE WE OFFERING?
We are offering the right candidate, the opportunity to become part of our Laboratory Analyst Trainee programme in a thriving food and agriculture division. As part of the programme, you will receive certification for the various aspects of on-the-job learning/training over a three year period.
The trainee programme will gain you first-hand experience and knowledge in the following:
- Wet chemistry skills including use of analytical precision balances, titrations & gravimetry.
- Use of a Laboratory Information Management System.
- Understanding of quality management and the essential role of quality assurance & quality control aspects in the activities of a laboratory.
- To participate in (blind) performance assessment schemes and to keep abreast of relevant analytical, equipment and systems developments.
- Laboratory Health & Safety measures including Control of Substances Hazardous to Health.
- Development of interpersonal skills including time management, steadiness in a stressful situation and team working.
- 3 year fix-term trainee role.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We are looking for a candidate with an Honours degree in Chemistry or a related subject who is keen to develop their skills through a three-year training programme in food and agricultural analytical methods. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and demonstrate a proactive and confident approach, along with high levels of integrity, reliability and professionalism.
