School Minibus Driver
Castles Education provides a specialist education for students aged 7 to 16 with social emotional and mental health needs. The post-holder will be required to drive a school minibus from 07:00 to 09:30 and 14:30 to 17:00, Mondays to Fridays during term-time.
You will be transporting pupils to and from our school in Gainsborough. There will be up to 6 children in your vehicle.
Job Role
- driving one of our minibuses, starting and finishing in Gainsborough
- collecting the pupils from their homes in the morning and taking them back home in the afternoon
- reporting all safeguarding and pupil issues to the Transport Coordinator
- ensuring the minibus is kept clean and in good condition, including, but not restricted to weekly cleaning of the bus, both inside and out, refuelling the vehicle as required, weekly vehicle checks (e.g. tyres, lights, oil, water, etc.)
- reporting any additional work required to the Transport Coordinator.
- adhering to all school policies including safeguarding and Health and Safety guidelines for minibus drivers
- liaising directly with parents when necessary
- covering other minibus drivers as required
Essential requirements:
- Hold a current, clean and valid driving licence D1 unrestricted or a PCV licence or D1 restricted (car licence obtained prior to 1/1/1997).
- Competent to undertake daily and weekly vehicle checks and carry out basic maintenance on the vehicle
Experience, skills and knowledge:
- Clean and valid driving licence
- Experience of working with SEMH / SEN children (preferred but not essential)
- Strong communication skills and patient and sensitive with regard to our pupils needs.
- Ability to work on own initiative.
- Reliable, trustworthy and be flexible to working arrangements.
- Willing to undertake relevant training as appropriate.
Qualifications:
- Clean driving license (Required)
- Driving: 5 years (Preferred)

- 07:00 to 09:30 and 14:30 to 17:00
