The Vale Academy are looking to appoint a Cover Supervisor to join our academy in September 2026 on a temporary, part time basis.
Working alongside teaching and classroom based staff, your main (but not only) responsibilities will be; covering planned and unplanned teacher absence and providing additional support to identified classes, when cover lessons are not required.

Your new role
As a Cover Supervisor, you will provide supervision of pupil learning within the academy. You will need to respond to questions, generally assist students to undertake set activities and uphold standards of behaviour in the classroom. In addition to cover needs, you will be required to work alongside teaching and classroom based staff to provide general support for departments. This is a key role in supporting the day to day running of the academy/school. It is important for you to be ICT literate and competent in using a variety of software packages.

Your new school
The Vale is a successful and high achieving 11 to 18 academy which has an excellent reputation and an established trend of high student outcomes, which are consistently above those achieved nationally. Indeed, 2025 outcomes placed the academy first in the local authority with attainment at 4+ and 5+ in both English and Maths at 77% and 65% respectively and an attainment score of 51.6.
The academy is situated in Brigg, North Lincolnshire and serves a largely rural community. Brigg itself is a historic market town on the edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds. Many of our students travel a considerable distance to school.
