2.0 Job Summary:
The Registered Manager is responsible for the leadership, regulatory compliance and operational performance of services across the organisation and ensuring that our services meet the highest standards of care, safety, and well-being.
The role requires a strong, values‑driven leader who can ensure that services remain compliant, financially viable, and recovery‑focused. The post holder will oversee staffing, training, supervision, void management, care planning, risk management, and quality assurance across multiple sites. They will champion a culture of continuous improvement, safeguarding excellence and operational consistency.
3.0 Responsibilities:
· Provide leadership and management to the care team, ensuring that all staff are aware of their roles and responsibilities
· Develop, implement, and review policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices. Lead, motivate, and develop staff teams, ensuring capability, accountability, and performance.
· Build strong relationships with commissioners, housing partners and external stakeholders.
· Ensure that all care services are delivered in accordance with the company's values, mission, and standards
· Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to identify areas for improvement
· Develop and maintain relationships with service users, families, and healthcare professionals
· Manage budgets, resources, and staffing levels to ensure efficient and effective service delivery
· Collaborate with other managers and teams to ensure seamless service delivery
· Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including staff and service user records
· Participate in on-call rota
4.0 Care, Support and Governance Responsibilities
- Ensure care and support are delivered using person-centered, recovery‑focused approaches.
- Oversee support plans and risk assessment processes, ensuring they are up to date, personalised and reflective of residents’ needs and goals.
- Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed, embedded and monitored across services.
- Work with welfare and clinical teams to coordinate admissions, transitions and multi‑agency support.
- Provide specialist advice on managing complex needs and high‑risk situations.
- Ensure adherence to organisational policies, CQC regulations, Reach Standards and best practice standards.
- Lead governance processes, including audits, quality reviews and incident management.
- Ensure services uphold the values of person-centered care, an autism-friendly and trauma-informed approach.
- Ensure safe and medicines optimisation systems where applicable.
- Oversee timely reporting and management of complaints, incidents and safeguarding concerns.
- Oversee reablement and recreational activities across supported living services and provide timely reports.
- Ensure service environments meet required standards through audits, regular site visits, and reporting processes.
5.0 Workforce, Supervision and Training
- Ensure all staff receive regular, high‑quality supervision, competency-based assessments, and annual appraisals
- Ensure mandatory training compliance across all supported housing services.
- Work with HR to strengthen workforce planning, recruitment, retention and performance management.
- Promote a culture of safety, learning, reflective practice and professional development. Address performance concerns promptly and fairly.
- Ensure staffing levels are safe, effective and aligned with resident needs.
6.0 Safeguarding
- Ensure safeguarding responsibilities are understood and followed by all staff.
- Lead safeguarding investigations where appropriate.
- Ensure staff attend safeguarding training relevant to their role.
- Work closely with local authorities and safeguarding partners.
7.0 Performance Management
- Monitor performance against KPIs, contractual targets and service level agreements.
- Participate in contract performance reviews and report trends, risks and achievements.
- Lead corrective action planning where performance falls below expected standards.
- Ensure high performance of Managers, Deputies and Team Leaders through supervision and audit.
- Ensure compliance with CQC, local authority and organisational standards.
8.0 Organisational Development
- Promote a culture of shared values, respect and wellbeing.
- Foster a learning environment that encourages innovation and reflective practice.
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of local and national guidance relevant to supported housing.
- Support organisational change and strategic development.
9.0 Persons Specification:
9.1 Essential
- Degree‑level education or equivalent experience in health, social care or management.
- Evidence of continuous professional development.
- Level 5 Leadership in Health & Social Care (or willingness to complete).
9.2 Desirable
- Professional qualification (e.g., RMN, RGN, Social Work).
9.3 EXPERIENCE
- Senior leadership experience in supported living or social care.
- Experience managing multi‑site services in a regulated environment.
- Strong understanding of CQC regulations and local authority commissioning.
- Experience in safeguarding, governance and risk management.
- Proven track record of service improvement.
- Experience working with commissioners and external partners.
