Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Fabricator Welder to join our growing manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating, assembling and welding components to engineering drawings and specifications, ensuring all work is completed to the highest standards of quality and safety.
This role involves working on a variety of fabricated metal products, including bespoke components, architectural metalwork, and production assemblies.
Key Responsibilities
· Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications and work instructions.
· Fabricate metal components using a range of workshop equipment.
· Carry out MIG/TIG welding to a high standard on mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium where required.
· Assemble fabricated components and complete final fitting operations.
· Operate fabrication machinery including press brakes, guillotines, drills, grinders and other workshop equipment.
· Conduct quality checks to ensure products meet customer specifications.
· Maintain a safe and organised working environment.
· Assist with continuous improvement initiatives within the production department.
· Work collaboratively with colleagues to meet production schedules and delivery deadlines.
· Report any quality, equipment or safety concerns to management.
Required Skills & Experience
Essential
· Previous experience as a Fabricator Welder in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
· Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
· Experience using fabrication and workshop machinery.
· Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Good problem-solving skills.
· Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
Desirable
· Welding qualifications or coding certifications.
· Experience working with sheet metal products.
· Experience with architectural metalwork, enclosures, wall panels or bespoke fabrications.
· Forklift licence.
