Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of opportunities, OCU is looking for a talented Bid Writer to join our Group Proposals Team.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in securing future business across a diverse range of sectors. Working closely with operational, commercial, and technical teams, you'll be responsible for creating compelling, compliant, and high-quality tender submissions that showcase OCU's expertise and capabilities.

- Producing high-quality responses for PQQs, EOIs, ITTs, RFPs, and framework submissions.
- Supporting bid planning activities, including storyboarding and submission strategies.
- Collaborating with subject matter experts across operational, commercial, and technical teams.
- Gathering and coordinating evidence, case studies, and supporting information.
- Developing persuasive win themes and value propositions.
- Reviewing tender requirements and ensuring all submissions are fully compliant.
- Supporting internal review processes, including Pink, Red, and Gold reviews.
- Maintaining and developing bid content libraries and knowledge management systems.
- Assisting with client presentations and interview preparation when required.
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and lessons learned activities.
Essential
- Experience in a Bid Writer, Proposal Writer, Tender Coordinator, or similar role.
- Experience supporting the preparation of PQQs, EOIs, ITTs, RFPs, and framework submissions.
- Excellent written communication, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to producing quality submissions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Ability to build effective working relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
Desirable
- APMP Foundation qualification or working towards accreditation.
- Experience within utilities, energy, infrastructure, construction, telecommunications, or engineering sectors.
- Knowledge of public sector procurement processes and frameworks.
- Experience using procurement portals such as Achilles, Jaggaer, Delta, Proactis, or similar platforms.
- More than 2 years' experience within a bid, proposals, or tendering environment.
