As part of our ongoing expansion, we are looking for a Machine Shop Assistant to join our team in a modern, cutting-edge machine shop based in Frome. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a growing business, supporting skilled machinists with clear progression opportunities for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Loading and unloading materials
- Assisting machinists with day-to-day tasks as required
- Assisting with loading kits
- Denesting components
- General support duties within the machine shop
The Ideal Candidate:
- Comfortable working to tight deadlines
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
- Forward-thinking with a proactive attitude
- Reliable, organised, and keen to learn
- An interest in strength training or keeping fit is advantageous but not essential
Development & Progression:

- Hands-on training alongside experienced machinists
- Potential to progress into a machine operator role for the right individual

Monday - Thursday - 8AM – 5PM
Friday - 8AM - 3:45PM
(39 Hour Working Week)
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
