About the Role
We are recruiting for a Quality/Welding Inspector, responsible for ensuring consistent quality and exceptional standards are met on all our structural steelwork projects within the workshop team. This is a key role to the business and requires an individual with a keen eye for detail, and the ability to read, understand and interpret detailed fabrication drawings.
This is a permanent role within a billion-pound construction group Bowmer and Kirkland. There is daily overtime. The hourly rate is £16.74p/h. Our recently constructed state-of-the-art facility in Derby offers excellent working conditions and high-quality health & safety and quality standards.
Key Skills, Experience & Attributes
- At least 2 years’ experience as a Fabricator/Welder.
- Strong all-round knowledge of workshop practice.
- A keen eye for detail.
- Able to read, understand and interpret detailed fabrication drawings.
Main Responsibilities
- Ensure consistent quality with our Fabrication and Welding with high standards expected at all times.
- Ensuring the correct equipment and materials are used.
- Dimensional and visual Inspection of partial and completed work.
- knowledge of fabrication and welding procedures.
- Ensuring a clean and safe working environment.
- Adhere to all Health & Safety rules and procedures at all times.
- The ideal candidate will be confident in ensuring all processes are completed in accordance with industry standards
- Oversee the quality of our welding activities, visually inspecting, and ensuring all welds are in accordance with detail drawings.
- Assist in the completion of Inspection records within a timely manner
- Work in conjunction with Production and Quality departments.
- Utilise Company digital inspection tools to ensure accurate fabrication in a timely manner.
- Adhere with company inspection procedures.

- Ability to work on own initiative, with an aptitude for solving problems.

- Be flexible to work overtime as required.
- Live within a commutable distance and have the right to work in the UK.
