Hills Road Sixth Form College is looking for a supportive and inspirational Teacher of Saxophone/ Clarinet to provide 1-1 lessons for students. The typical pattern is to deliver 30 x 30-minute lessons per student over the academic year. Exact hours are to be confirmed based on student interest, but it is likely to be around 2 hours of teaching for saxophone, 1 hour for clarinet. We are also looking for a director of the Jazz Orchestra for one hour a week. A keen interest in a range of musical styles would be advantageous. The roles can be combined or applied for separately. The Post The Music Department at Hills Road is one of the largest centres for A level music in the country. It has an excellent reputation for the quality of its musical provision and richness of its musical opportunities. At present, we have around 120 students studying A Level Music (EDEXCEL) and / or A Level Music Technology (EDEXCEL). Almost all students continue to Higher Education, with a high percentage selecting music related courses at university or Music College. The Music Department is housed in attractive accommodation including an impressive Recital Room with excellent performance acoustics, a suite of six practice rooms, 2 recording studios, 2 teaching rooms and an office. In addition to the Director of Music, there are 3 further Music and / or Music Technology Teachers, a full-time Music Technician, a part-time Administrative Assistant and 8 instrumental and singing teachers.
