OVERVIEW OF THE JOB
The primary purpose of this internship is to provide high-level support to the Finance Director
across two key commercial pillars: capital fundraising and property management operations.
The successful candidate will gain hands-on experience communicating with external financial
institutions and managing the operational lifecycle of student accommodation sublets across
our major UK campuses.
This role offers an excellent opportunity to understand the intersection of corporate finance,
commercial real estate, and international education management.
REPORTS TO
You will be directly responsible to the Finance Director.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE JOB
Fundraising & Financial Institution Liaison
To assist the Finance Director in preparing financial models, presentations, and data
rooms for fundraising initiatives.
To act as a professional point of contact for external financial institutions, handling
routine correspondence and gathering required documentation.
To research and compile market data to support investment cases and capital funding
proposals.
Property Management & Sublet Operations
To support the management and operational oversight of student accommodation
sublets located in Cambridge, Canterbury, and London.
To liaise directly with letting agents regarding contract terms, marketing, property
maintenance, and occupancy levels.
To serve as a responsive and professional point of contact for tenant enquiries, ensuring
issues are logged and resolved efficiently.
To assist in tracking rental income, reviewing property-related invoices, and monitoring
expenditures against budget.
General Support & Administration
To maintain organized, secure, and up-to-date digital files relating to properties,
financial institutions, and legal agreements.
To provide ad-hoc administrative and analytical support to the Finance Director and
wider finance team as required.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
This is an exceptional internship opportunity designed for an ambitious student or recent
graduate looking to launch a career in corporate finance, real estate, or business management.
Education: Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Finance, Accounting,
Economics, Real Estate, or a related business discipline.
Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to
interact professionally with high-profile external stakeholders (banks, institutions,
agents).
Organization: Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with sharp attention to detail
and data accuracy.
Tech Skills: Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for data analysis and
presentation building.
Attributes: A proactive, self-motivated individual who can work independently under
guidance and handle confidential information with discretion.
