Our in-house Engineering team is growing, to support continued business growth and development of specialist green-energy, anaerobic digestion technologies in conjunction with Combined Heat and Power (CHP) generation, bio-methane production and carbon capture.
The Role:
Working in our Mechanical Maintenance Team responsible for Repair, Maintenance & Installation across two locations based in the Ely, Cambridgeshire, area.
We require an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Fitter Technician to join our talented and versatile team, working on a 4-on/4-off shift pattern across our anaerobic digestion (AD) facilities, based near Ely, Cambridgeshire. The work is varied and interesting and will have a direct impact on productivity. This is an exciting opportunity in a fast-moving environment where no two days are the same.
· The primary focus will be to conduct repairs and maintenance in accordance with the schedules set by the maintenance managers.
· You will be required to perform Service, Repair, Maintenance & Installation, testing, Inspection and Fault-finding to a high standard.
· Working on a 4-on/4-off shift pattern with 12-hour shifts
· Experience in working with a cherry-picker is desirable and you must be confident to work at heights, outdoors in any weather.
· Ideally, you should have experience of driving plant machinery such as tele-handlers and forklifts, though training will be provided for the successful candidate.
· Welding experience would be an advantage.
· Full UK driving licence is essential.
· It is important that work is done in a timely and organized manner, is of high-quality whilst always adhering to Health & Safety best practice.
· You will also be responsible for the relevant record keeping of work via the use of company maintenance logging systems, using a handheld tablet computer.
· Ad-hoc duties to ensure the smooth running of the business
The Person:
You will be an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Fitter Technician, with industrial background and the ability to manage your workload effectively. You will be able to demonstrate your versatility, resourcefulness and resilience through proven success in Service, Repair, Maintenance & Installation at previous roles. The ability to work independently, methodically and in a timely manner as part of a team is important. You will be prepared and able to work in an agricultural environment, primarily outdoors, in all weather.
Experience:
Essential experience:
- Good all-round industrial / agricultural Mechanical fitter technician
- Mechanical experience with motors, engines, augers, conveyors, gearboxes, pneumatics, hydraulics, valves, etc.
- Service, Repair, Maintenance & Installation
- Fault-finding and investigation
- Working at heights
- Driving plant machinery
- Full UK driving licence
- Full right to work in the UK
Desirable experience:
- Tele-handler / forklift ticket
- Cherry-picker experience

As part of the selection process, there will be telephone and face-to-face interviews plus a half-day shadowing practical assessment and potentially including hands-on skills test to demonstrate your capability and knowledge.
Pay: £35,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
