Full job description

Cambridge Regional College have an exciting opportunity for a Lecturer - Maths to join our Service Industries team at our Cambridge Campus.

You will join us on a part time (22.5 hours), full year basis and in return you will receive a competitive salary of between £18,037 - £26,551 per annum, equivalent to a full-time salary of £29,662 - £43,662 per annum, plus staff benefits.

Weekly Hours: 22.5 Weekly working pattern: Monday – Wednesday

This teaching role and course is eligible for levelling up premium payments you could qualify to receive an extra payment of up to £6,000 per year, after tax. This payment is separate from teachers’ pay.

You can claim your payment if you are in your first 5 years of teaching in FE, teach at least 2.5 hours per week and meet the full eligibility criteria.

Eligible FE teachers can claim a levelling up premium payment for teaching specific courses in the following subject areas:

building and construction
chemistry
computing, including digital and ICT
early years

About the role:

The primary purpose of this job role is to provide high quality teaching and access to learning. It is expected that the post holder will contribute to course design, development of programmes and the expansion of the area generally. To teach Functional Skills and GCSE Maths to learners on Service Industry, Business and Travel courses, with varying levels of ability and confidence from Entry Level to Level 2.

What we are looking for in our role:

A relevant Degree.
Maths A Levels or equivalent, grade C or above.
Teaching qualification or willing to work towards.
- Experience of teaching Maths at Functional Skills or GCSE students across a broad range of levels.
  
  Experience of preparing students for Functional Skills / GCSE exams.
