Swap the desk life to the great outdoors, you will be fully trained and insured to walk the most wonderful dogs! We’re a welfare-first company that will never walk any more than four dogs at a time. If you’re an animal lover that loves being outdoors, then this is for you! There are part time positions available to suit different schedules.
Main duties
· Pick up and drop off dogs from their homes whilst ensuring the security of customers’ homes
· Transport dogs safely to and from their walks and homes in your own vehicle
· Understand special requests and specific conditions for each dog
· Walk dogs outdoors in all weather conditions (anywhere from 20 to 60 minutes at a time) (We do not walk in hot weather)
· Give each dog love and attention and treat the customer’s dogs as if they were their own
· Ensure each dog is getting plenty of exercise and a toilet break
· Ensure the safety of the dogs you are walking and anyone else around them
· Remove pet waste
· Take photos of the dogs for their owners and update them regularly
· Give fresh water, wipe paws and towel wet dogs down
· Provide excellent customer service
Requirements
Candidates must:
· Be located within 5 miles of Cambridge
· Be able to walk 1 - 2 hours a day
· Be able to lift, exercise, handle and restrain dogs
· Submit for a police and reference check
· Look after dogs as if they are a member of the family
· Complete our online pet first aid course
· Carry out some shadow walks before taking the job
· Undergo training as required
· Use your car (insurance, tax and MOT required)
· Know their area and local dog walking spots
· Have a reliable mobile phone and internet access
· Write well and communicate clearly with clients
· Report to the branch manager and work with the dog walking team to provide a high-quality dog walking service.
· Be available for lunch time walks
