Domicile Leader – Captive & Insurance Management, Guernsey

What the day will look like
The Domicile Leader is accountable for the day‑to‑day leadership and performance of the Guernsey captive management office.
The role focuses on:

Delivering high‑quality captive and insurance management services to clients.

Leading, developing and engaging colleagues consistent with Aon’s values and the Aon United culture.

Ensuring operational excellence, client happiness and adherence to Aon policies and local regulatory requirements in Guernsey.

Managing and maintaining relationships with local collaborators in Guernsey, including regulators and representative bodies.
-
Being the principal representative of ACIM for Guernsey.
Office & Operational Leadership
-
Lead the day‑to‑day operations of the office, ensuring effective service delivery while maintaining alignment with agreed service standards.

Implement the Hub and ACIM strategies and priorities in the office setting, translating them into clear plans and actions for the team.

Drive continuous improvement in processes, efficiency and quality, sharing guidelines with other offices in the Hub.

Support the Hub Manager with relevant management information, forecasts and operational input to Hub plans.
Client & Market Leadership

Ensure the client is at the heart of office activities and that clients are treated fairly and ethically.

Supervise relationship management and service delivery for the office’s client portfolio; personally lead relationships for selected key accounts.

Support business development, renewals and cross‑sell opportunities in collaboration with the Hub Leader and other Aon teams.

Ensure client needs are met in line with local regulatory, governance and reporting requirements in Guernsey.
People Leadership & Culture

Set the tone for the office, exemplifying the spirit, values and behaviours of Aon United culture.

Provide clear direction and leadership to colleagues, ensuring objectives are aligned to office and Hub goals.

Lead all aspects of the people agenda locally, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, mentoring, development, recognition and succession planning.

Build an inclusive, high‑performing team environment, driving engagement, teamwork and knowledge‑

Partner with HR and the Hub Lead to implement the ACIM Talent Agenda, including training and career development opportunities.
Risk, Compliance & Governance

Ensure the office operates in accordance with the ACIM Risk Management Framework, Aon guidelines, and all relevant local laws and regulations.

Supervise and lead operational and conduct risks within the office; promptly bring up issues and support remediation actions.

Maintain high standards of business conduct, documentation and controls to meet internal and external audit and regulatory expectations.
Teamwork & Change

Collaborate closely alongside the Hub Leader and additional office leaders to align on strategy, share expertise and support regional initiatives.

Work with colleagues across Aon (e.g. Commercial Risk, Reinsurance, other solution lines) to deliver coordinated client solutions and embed the ACIM value proposition.

Lead or support change and transformation initiatives at office level, ensuring effective communication and adoption by colleagues.
Skills and experience that will lead to success
-
Significant experience in captive management, insurance, brokerage or related risk/consulting environment.
-
Proven experience leading teams and handling people, ideally in a regulated financial services or insurance setting.

Strong understanding of captives and/or risk financing concepts and relevant local regulatory frameworks.

Proven track record to deliver high-quality client service and lead complex collaborator relationships.

Excellent people leadership skills: mentor, feedback, performance management and talent development.

Strong organisational, problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence across functions and levels.
