Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Ground Worker to join our team, responsible for supporting various landscaping, construction, and maintenance projects. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, practical skills, and a keen eye for detail to ensure the successful completion of outdoor tasks. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop hands-on experience in horticulture, gardening, and construction environments.

Duties

Assist with landscape maintenance including planting, pruning, and turf care
Operate hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently for various tasks
Support excavation activities using equipment such as excavators under supervision
Maintain irrigation systems, ensuring proper installation and functioning
Perform general maintenance tasks on outdoor sites, including cleaning and repairs
Assist with construction-related activities such as groundwork preparation and material handling
Support gardening and horticultural activities to promote healthy plant growth
Ensure all work areas are kept safe, organised, and compliant with health and safety regulations

Skills

Experience in landscape maintenance, gardening or horticulture is highly desirable
Mechanical knowledge to operate and maintain power tools and small machinery
Proficiency with hand tools used in construction and gardening tasks
Ability to operate an excavator or similar equipment is advantageous
Knowledge of irrigation systems installation and troubleshooting
Strong understanding of general maintenance procedures in outdoor environments
Ability to work effectively as part of a team in physically demanding conditions
Good organisational skills with attention to detail in executing assigned tasks

This position is suitable for individuals eager to gain practical experience within the construction and landscaping sectors. Applicants should be physically fit, safety-conscious, and willing to undertake varied outdoor duties.

Pay: £15.00-£22.00 per hour
