About the role

The SDR owns Stage 2 of our 5-Step Sales Process – Prospecting. This is the engine room of new business: turning targets identified through Market Development into qualified, booked opportunities for our Business Development team. You'll be the first voice a prospect hears – making first impressions, building pipeline, and making sure no lead goes cold.

Key responsibilities

- Make outbound cold calls to identified prospects from target lists provided by Market Development

- Conduct initial outreach via phone, email, LinkedIn and other relevant channels

- Qualify leads against agreed criteria before passing them forward in the sales process

- Book qualified appointments and face-to-face meetings for the Business Development team

- Systematically follow up on warm and cold leads, ensuring timely and persistent contact

- Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of all prospect activity in Pipedrive

- Track call outcomes, objections and next steps to continuously refine your approach

- Report weekly on call volumes, appointments booked and conversion rates

- Work closely with Market Development to keep target lists current and well-qualified

- Hand over qualified appointments to Business Development with full context and notes

What we're looking for

- Previous experience in a telesales, SDR or outbound sales role (building products or trade/merchant sector a plus)

- A confident, resilient phone manner – comfortable with cold calling and objection handling

- Strong organisational skills; able to manage a high volume of leads and follow-ups

- Clear, professional written and verbal communication

- Comfortable using CRM systems (Pipedrive experience desirable)

- Self-motivated and target-driven, with a genuine interest in building a career in sales
