Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Painter/Decorator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for applying paint, varnish, and other finishes to various surfaces, ensuring high-quality workmanship and attention to detail. Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and priming before painting or decorating
- Apply paint, varnish, wallpaper, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment
- Ensure all work is completed to a high standard of quality and within specified deadlines
- Protect surrounding areas by covering furniture, fixtures, and floors during work
- Mix paints and colours accurately according to project requirements
- Communicate effectively with clients and team members regarding project progress and any issues
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment at all times
- Follow health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment for all team members
Experience
- Proven experience in construction painting or decorating is essential.
- Knowledge of different types of paints, finishes, and decorating techniques
- Valid driving licence is essential to facilitate transportation between sites
- Excellent communication skills for liaising with clients and team members
- Ability to interpret technical drawings or project specifications is advantageous
