The Role as a Deputy Lay Clerk
Bring your voice to one of the worlds most iconic Cathedrals.
We're looking for talented and reliable singers to join us as Deputy Lay Clerks, stepping in to support our renowned Cathedral Choir at services, rehearsals and special events.
If you're a confident performer with excellent sight-reading skills and a passion for choral music, this is your chance to sing at the heart of a globally recognised centre of worship and music.
What you'll be doing as a Deputy Lay Clerk
- Singing at Cathedral services, rehearsals and events as required
- Supporting the highest musical standards in both ensemble and solo singing
- Contributing to a professional, respectful and prayerful worship environment
- Working closely with our Director of Music and choir team
What we're looking for in a Deputy Lay Clerk
- Outstanding vocal ability and strong musicianship
- Excellent sight-reading skills
- Experience as a professional musician
- Reliability, flexibility and a professional attitude
- An appreciation of Cathedral worship and music traditions
Desirable:
- Experience in Anglican service music (including psalms)
- Formal singing qualifications or degree-level study
This role is subject to a Standard DBS check.
