Full job description

We're looking for a Facilities Assistant at Rayleigh Mount to help keep the whole place in good condition and opening and closing the gates.

Your shift pattern will be 3 days on, 3 days off with 10-15 minutes in the morning to open the gates and then 45-50 in the afternoon/evening to do a site check, litter pick and closing of the gates. You'll work 3.5 hours per week.

For this role, you’ll need to complete our online assessment instead of using a C.V. or online application form. This will help us understand more about your strengths and give you more information on the role.

What it's like to work here:You'll be part of the 2 person team who opens and closes the site. Sharing the work on a 3 day shift pattern, checking the site, and reporting any incidents or issues such as fallen trees to the local Ranger team based up in Danbury. It is a nice opportunity to share the history and different site works with our visitors.

What you'll be doing:You’ll help with the day-to-day presentation of the National Trust’s outdoor space. You’ll be turning your hand to all sorts of cleaning and minor bits of maintenance, making sure that all our facilities are kept in good working order.

Duties such as litter-picking form a core part of this role. You’ll be aiming for the highest standards of customer service everywhere you look after, and this includes speaking to people as they visit and helping them with any queries. You might also get involved with general maintenance work and helping other teams if they need extra support.
