Overview
We are seeking a skilled Sewing Machinist to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating sewing machines and a keen eye for detail to produce high-quality products. The successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring that all sewn items meet our quality standards while adhering to production deadlines.
Wage rate is basic pay £14.36 plus incentives.
Responsibilities
- Operate various types of sewing machines to assemble and finish products according to specifications
- Inspect finished garments or items for defects, ensuring quality standards are met
- Maintain and troubleshoot sewing equipment to minimise downtime
- Follow detailed work instructions and production schedules
- Assist with inventory management and organisation within the warehouse setting
- Ensure work area remains clean, organised, and safe at all times
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily production targets
Skills
- Proven experience with sewing, preferably in a manufacturing or warehouse environment
- Strong attention to detail and precision in work output
- Ability to operate different types of sewing machines efficiently
- Good organisational skills and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Basic understanding of warehouse procedures is advantageous
- Ability to work well independently as well as part of a team
