Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Fire Stopper to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing fire-resistant barriers and ensuring compliance with safety standards across various building sites. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in construction-related trades to contribute to safety and building integrity. Applicants should be organised, detail-oriented, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

Install fire stopping systems in accordance with technical specifications and safety regulations
Read and interpret schematics, drawings, and technical plans to determine installation requirements
Use a variety of hand tools and power tools to cut, shape, and install fire-resistant materials
Collaborate with other trades such as roofing, plumbing, electrical, masonry, and carpentry teams to ensure seamless integration of fire stopping measures
Perform inspections of completed work to ensure compliance with safety standards and building codes
Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times
Assist in fabricating custom fire stopping components as needed using welding or fabrication techniques

Skills

Proven experience in construction trades
Proficiency with hand tools and power tools used in construction environments
Ability to read schematics and technical drawings accurately
Familiarity with safety standards related to fire protection systems
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team setting
