Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Garden Centre Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in horticulture and possess the skills necessary to maintain and enhance the beauty of our garden centre and growing nursery. This role requires effective communication abilities, as well as organisational skills to manage various gardening tasks efficiently.

Responsibilities

loading and unloading deliveries
pruning, shaping and spacing plants
weeding, watering and feeding
potting seedlings
monitoring plant health and quality
re-stocking plant displays
serving customers
picking and packing orders for delivery
Monitor plant health and identify any pests or diseases, taking appropriate action.
Communicate effectively with team members and clients regarding garden maintenance needs.
Sell gardening products when required, demonstrating knowledge of horticultural practices.
Keep tools and equipment clean and in good working order.

The Ideal Candidate Would Have

Proven experience in gardening or horticulture
Strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Knowledge of various plant species and gardening techniques.
A passion for working outdoors and a commitment to maintaining high standards of garden care.
