Purpose of Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Security Officer to join our established security team based in Cardiff.
We are seeking professional, reliable, and customer-focused Security Officers to provide manned guarding services at one of our prestigious client sites.
This is a key role within our security operation, delivering a proactive, high-quality security service while maintaining the highest standards of safety, professionalism, and customer care.
Job Description
As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for protecting people, property, and assets, ensuring a safe and secure environment for staff, visitors, and contractors.
You will play an important role in the prevention and detection of security incidents and provide an effective response to emergencies when required.
The site operates a 24/7 security service, therefore flexibility is essential. Successful candidates will be required to work a combination of days, nights, weekends, and public holidays as part of a rotating shift pattern.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the highest standards of site security through proactive detection, prevention, and response activities.
- Conduct regular internal and external patrols.
- Perform gatehouse and access control duties.
- Undertake reception security responsibilities, including X-ray screening operations.
- Monitor and operate CCTV systems.
- Carry out control room operations and key management tasks.
- Respond appropriately to incidents, alarms, emergencies, and security breaches.
- Assist in implementing appropriate risk mitigation measures where required.
- Demonstrate a high level of competence in the operation of all security systems and equipment to maximise their effectiveness.
- Deliver an excellent level of customer service while maintaining a professional and approachable presence on site.
Essential Qualifications/Skills
- Valid Security Industry Authority (SIA) Frontline Licence (Security Guarding, Door Supervision, or Close Protection).
- Previous security experience is desirable; however, it is not essential as full training will be provided for the right candidate.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to remain vigilant.
- Calm, professional, and confident approach in all situations.
- Friendly, approachable, and customer-focused.
- Able to successfully complete BS7858 screening, including providing a full 5-year checkable employment history.
