Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Nurse / Playworker to join our childcare team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children, supporting their early development through engaging activities and personalised care. A background in early childhood education and nursery experience is preferred, alongside strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Responsibilities

Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote learning, creativity, and social development.
Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children in your care at all times.
Support children’s individual needs through personalised care plans.
Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues through clear communication and professional conduct.
Maintain a clean, organised, and welcoming nursery environment.
Assist with daily routines such as snack times, lunch times, and outdoor play.
Support the management team in organising activities and maintaining records of children's progress.
Lead by example in demonstrating good practice in childcare standards and health & safety procedures.
Supporting children with Additional Learning Needs and Disabilities.

Qualifications / Experience

Previous experience working within a nursery or childcare setting is highly desirable.
Knowledge of Early Years Curriculum, child development stages and schemas.
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written. Welsh language skills are highly desirable.
Ability to work effectively with children of various ages, demonstrating patience, empathy, and creativity.
Being able to adapt to the changing environment
Childcare qualifications such as CCPLD Level 2/Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent are preferred. Playwork Level 2/3 are also desirable.
A genuine passion for working with children and supporting their early years development. This role provides an enriching environment where you can make a positive impact on children's lives while developing your professional skills within a supportive team.

Pay: From £13.45 per hour
