There has never been a more exciting time to join our team as we shape the future of our Midwifery Service and continue on a journey of improvement with our plans to fully integrate our Community teams with our Freestanding Birth Centre as part of our commitment to improving continuity of care to the women.
We have invested in a Freestanding Tirion Birth Centre based at the Royal Glamorgan Hospital together with Alongside Midwifery Led Units based at our Obstetric Units in Prince Charles Hospital Merthyr Tydfil & Princess of Wales Hospital in Bridgend.
We also feel privileged to be able to offer women a Home Birth Service
Various hours are available across CTMUHB as a community midwifery
Provide all aspects of midwifery care for low risk pregnant women in both the community and hospital setting
Practice autonomously using knowledge, skills and abilities for safe, effective practice without direct supervision
Be responsible for the assessment, planning development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care for clients in all areas of Maternity service
E nsure the provision of the highest standards of care, which reflects the quality standards and values and behaviours of Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board (CTMUHB)
Welsh Skills Desirable: This post is advertised as Welsh Desirable. This doesn’t mean essential; whilst the candidate doesn't need to have skills in Welsh, we'll consider it an advantage when short-listing and selecting candidates. This isn’t ‘fluency’, just Speaking & Listening skills at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above. Level 3 means basic conversations with patients about their everyday health.
