Full job description

Timber Cutting Shop Operative – Saw Assistant (2nd Man)

Location: Marton
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 4:30pm (45 hours per week)

Due to continued growth, we are looking for a reliable and hardworking Saw Assistant (2nd Man) to join our busy Timber Cutting Shop.

Working alongside experienced saw operators, you will play a key role in supporting the accurate cutting, handling and processing of timber components used in modern timber frame construction.

Key Responsibilities

Assisting saw operators with the loading and unloading of timber.
Measuring, marking and preparing timber for cutting.
Sorting, stacking and banding finished components.
Carrying out quality checks and reporting any defects.
Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment.
Assisting with general factory duties as required.
Following all health and safety procedures.

What We're Looking For

Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
Good attention to detail.
Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling.
Reliable and punctual.
Previous factory, manufacturing, timber, construction or woodworking experience would be advantageous, but full training will be provided.
