The Role
We are looking for a reliable, hard-working HGV Shunter / Cleaner to join our team. This is a hands-on role responsible for moving vehicles safely around site and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation across the fleet and yard area. The ideal candidate will be safety-conscious, self-motivated and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Shunt HGVs, trailers and other vehicles safely around the yard and site in line with company procedures.
- Position vehicles for loading, unloading, inspection or workshop activity as required.
- Carry out vehicle cleaning duties, including exterior wash-down, cab cleaning and basic yard housekeeping.
- Complete daily vehicle checks and report defects, damage or safety concerns promptly.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment in the yard and wash areas.
- Follow all site health and safety rules, including safe vehicle movement procedures.
- Support the wider operation with general yard duties when required.
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience in a shunting, yard, transport or vehicle cleaning role is preferred.
- A valid HGV licence is essential, depending on site and vehicle requirements.
- Good awareness of vehicle safety and yard movement procedures.
- Ability to work in a physically active role and in all weather conditions.
- Reliable, punctual and able to work to high cleanliness and safety standards.
- Good communication skills and a positive team-focused attitude.
- Flexibility to work shifts, evenings or weekends if required.
