Digital Marketing Manager - Will consider remote working with travel to our Head office in Carlisle at least once per month
Role Profile
This is a hands-on role, merging strategy with action across day-to day workload and specific projects with the aim of driving brand awareness, traffic and customer acquisition.
You should have proven experience across all aspects of digital-marketing, taking a lead in project delivery and upskilling the wider team and other colleagues.
You will own the ongoing management of our digital marketing channels and campaigns, using data and analytics to segment our audience and create engaging and creative multi-channel solutions to generate leads and sales.
You will own the planning and execution of PPC, website and content optimization, while working closely with the wider marketing team to deliver the right content to the right audience at the right time.
Main Responsibilities
The job role involves (amongst others):
- PPC: Manage paid advertising via current and new channels including Google Ads, ensuring continuous improvement based on results and analytics. Oversee daily, weekly and monthly planning and performance, aligned with company goals and budget – comfortable presenting back to the Senior Management Team on CPA, platform algorithm changes and strategies to utilise these
- Social Media: Manage paid social media channel planning and reporting, using industry knowledge, business insight, best practice and analytics to deliver leads and sales. Work alongside marketing colleagues to improve organic social content for reach to a wider audience
- Systems: Act as subject matter expert of digital marketing systems, including the CRM, website CMS, Google suite (Ads, Analytics/ Tag Manager/ Trends/ Search Console / Attribution modelling etc) becoming the go to person for customer knowledge and upskilling the wider team in how the data impacts digital marketing activities
- Website: Ownership of the website Content Management System (CMS) on Wordpress, including the design of mobile optimised website content to improve UX and CRO, working with the Marketing team to deliver on brand content which meets business objectives. Develop a clear testing strategy (including A/B testing) to continually drive incremental improvements
- SEO, including emerging/ AEO (optimising for AI search engines): Own the strategy, management and delivery of digital content to improve reach in our target geographical areas and ensure we widen our reach on all platforms
- Affiliates: Support the digital aspects of our affiliate programme, managing cookie consents, tracking, tagging and the online journey, working alongside out IT team
- Email: Working with the marketing team to optimize email performance through one off and longer-term nurturing journeys
- AI: Look at the opportunity to develop AI throughout our marketing campaigns and develop actions plans to efficiently implement projects which will bring value and ROI
- External Agencies: Manage opportunities with our external agencies, using their knowledge and insight to drive better performance for the business across digital channels
- Internal Team: Line manage the digital team to ensure projects are delivered on time and in line with business objectives, with targets aligned to business performance. Work closely with peers in marketing to meet department and business targets.
- Business: Build and manage cross department relationships to drive digital performance, including sales, service, IT, systems and networks. Ensure compliance with GDPR and other customer legislation across all digital platforms. Own and participate in specific projects to enhance the business as it grows and support the Head of Marketing with key growth activities

Preferred Skills & Experience
The following experience is essential:
- 5+ years of experience using Google platforms
- Evidenced in-depth PPC and lead-gen / direct-to-consumer acquisition experience
- Management of paid social media platforms
The following experience is desirable:
- Experience in services or utilities
- Line Management experience
- Management and build of websites (Wordpress)
Working hours
This is a full-time role, working 37.5 hours per week
