Position Description:
To develop and integrate new automated processes, including robotics. To support the business with the programming, maintenance, and upgrading of new and existing automated equipment and processes as and when required.
Design & Development
- Design, develop, and implement new automated systems and processes to improve production capacity, efficiency, quality, and/or safety.
- Develop functional specifications, control philosophies, and system architectures for automation projects.
- Manage projects to ensure they are delivered in full, within budget, safely, on time, and to required performance standards.
- Program and configure industrial systems e.g. PLCs, “Human-Machine Interfaces”, “Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition” systems, Robotics, Vision systems, digital twins.
- Integrate automation systems with existing plant infrastructure and IT/OT systems.
- Identify opportunities to upgrade or retrofit existing automation systems.
- Support the development and implementation of wider technical innovation initiatives beyond core automation projects.
- Contribute to evaluation of emerging technologies, materials, and/or processes.
- Provide ongoing support for existing automated equipment and processes.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation including schematics, code, and operating manuals.
- Ensure all automation systems comply with relevant standards, regulations, and company procedures.
- Support risk assessments, CE marking, and safety validation activities.
Qualifications:
- BEng (Hons) or greater in Robotics, Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electrical, or similar relevant Engineering discipline.
Position: Full Time with an immediate start
Hours of work: Mon- Thursday 9.00am -17.00pm, Friday 8.00am – 2.00pm
Salary: Negotiable depending on experience
Holidays: Full time – 25 days per year (Holiday year Jan – Dec) + 8 Bank holidays, Pro rata for part time.
Life Insurance: 3 times basic salary whilst in employment
