Role Purpose
The Participant Support Lead supports individuals and families to access, engage with and
progress through Prism Arts programmes.
This role combines participant support, programme coordination, administration and
involvement in creative activity. Working closely with participants, families, artists and partner
organisations, the postholder will help create meaningful and inclusive opportunities for
disabled and neurodivergent people.
As part of this maternity cover period, the role will also support some elements of day-to-day
operational coordination across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Participant Support and Development
- Build positive relationships with participants, families, carers and support agencies
- Support participants to access and engage with Prism Arts programmes
- Work with Lead Artists to develop and maintain individual development plans
- Support participant progression, including access to skills development, commissions
and creative opportunities
- Attend participant reviews, meetings and support planning discussions where required
- Support pastoral care and respond appropriately to participant and family needs
- Support Direct Payment participants to access and engage with programmes
Programme and Creative Support
- Work with Lead Artists and the Creative Programme Director to support programme
delivery and participant engagement
- Support participants to contribute to creative decision-making where appropriate
- Assist with session delivery, events, performances and community projects where
needed
- Support access to commissioning and progression opportunities for participants
- Support open days, exhibitions and engagement events where appropriate
Communication and Partnership Working
- Work collaboratively with social services, schools, support agencies and community
partners
- Work closely with the Communications Lead to support participant communication
and engagement
- Support the collection of stories, content and impact information for
communications and fundraising purposes
- Act as a point of contact for volunteers and support onboarding processes
Administration and Coordination
- Maintain accurate participant records, development plans and impact data
- Support monitoring and evaluation processes linked to participant development and
programme impact
- Manage administration related to your areas of responsibility
- Use organisational systems appropriately to store and manage information
- Maintain an up-to-date work calendar and support effective communication across
teams
Additional Coordination and Operational Support
Alongside participant support responsibilities, the role will support the smooth day-to-day
coordination of Prism Arts activities during the maternity cover period.
Responsibilities may include:
- Supporting programme scheduling and coordination
- Assisting with session cover and staTing arrangements
- Contributing to the smooth day-to-day running of studio and oTice activities
- Providing administrative and logistical support across the organisation as required
General Responsibilities
- Follow Prism Arts policies and procedures, including safeguarding, health and safety
and data protection requirements
- Contribute positively to team working and organisational communication
- Attend relevant meetings, training and development opportunities
- Support shared office and front-of-house responsibilities where required
- Represent Prism Arts professionally when working with participants, families, partners
and the wider public

Person Specification
Essential (these attributes are needed to perform well in the role)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to adapt communication
style and use a range of methods including face-to-face, telephone, email and written
communication.
- Confidence using standard oTice software and digital systems.
- Ability to work positively with a wide range of people
- Good organisational and administrative skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within a small team
- Commitment to inclusive and person-centred practice
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work flexibly
Desirable (these attributes would be useful for the role, but can be learnt/developed in
post)
- Experience working in arts, community or participatory settings
- Experience working with disabled or neurodivergent people
- Experience working with families, support services or community organisations
- Knowledge of participatory arts practice
- Experience using digital platforms and social media
- Understanding of Direct Payments or adult social care systems
- Arts qualification or relevant creative practice experience
