Care Supervisor – Domiciliary / Home Care (Cumbria)

Working Pattern: The role requires a minimum of 2–3 days per week in the office and 2–3 days per week covering care runs, in line with operational needs.
Salary: £14.45 to £14.75 per hour (depending on experience)

We are now seeking a passionate and experienced Care Supervisor to join our friendly Cumbria branch. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape and lead a small, dedicated team providing outstanding care in the community.
Role Summary
As a Care Supervisor, you will play a vital role in the planning, delivery, and quality assurance of home care services. You’ll ensure our clients receive safe, compassionate, and consistent support, in full compliance with CQC standards.
You will be responsible for managing rostering, supervising staff, completing care planning, completing needs assessments and maintaining regular communication with clients. You will use the Access Homecare Management System to coordinate day-to-day operations efficiently. In addition, you will be required to work on the runs when needed to ensure continuity of care and the smooth delivery of our service.
Main Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage day-to-day home care services and staff rotas.
- Conduct field visits to monitor care quality and client satisfaction.
- Complete and review care plans, risk assessments, and spot checks.
- Provide supervision, guidance, and training for care staff.
- Act as the main point of contact for clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Handle concerns or complaints with professionalism and empathy.
- Support the team with on-call duties (shared rota including some weekends).
- Ensure full compliance with CQC and company policies.
- Cover rota gaps when required, ensuring continuity of care and service delivery.
Specialist Focus
We’re looking for someone with direct experience in at least one of the following areas:
- Dementia care
- Parkinson’s care
- End-of-life / palliative support
- Medication Administration
You’ll act as a Care Champion, helping to develop the team’s skills and enhance the quality of specialist care provided across our service.
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 2 years’ experience coordinating or supervising a domiciliary or community care service.
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care (Level 3 preferred).
- Strong understanding of CQC compliance and quality standards.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Experience with electronic care management systems (Access an advantage).
- Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.

Experience

- Providing direct care: 3 years (preferred)
Licence / Certification
- Full UK Driving Licence (required)
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care (preferred)
