IT Manager
Competitive salary plus car allowance, dependent on qualifications and experience
Sibcas Ltd is a family-run business and a leading UK manufacturer and hirer of modular and relocatable accommodation. Operating throughout the UK, we support customers across the education, construction and infrastructure sectors. Our success is built on delivering high-quality solutions, investing in our people, continuously improving our operations, and developing trusted, long-term customer relationships.
We are seeking an experienced IT Manager to join the team at our Head Office in Bathgate. You will be responsible for the reliable day-to-day operation of SiBCAS' technology infrastructure, cyber security posture, and IT service delivery. Working closely with and reporting to the IT Director, the post-holder will manage a small IT team, oversee service desk performance, and take hands-on ownership of infrastructure, cloud environments, and security operations. The role plays a key part in delivering digital transformation projects as directed by the IT Director, taking projects from design through to implementation, and in maintaining the company's established cyber security standards and compliance obligations.
This is a hands-on management role requiring strong technical understanding, service delivery discipline, project coordination skills and the ability to work effectively with internal stakeholders, suppliers and technical staff.
What You'll Be Doing
IT Service Management & Infrastructure
- Manage the day-to-day performance of the company's on-premises server and network infrastructure, including routine monitoring, maintenance, patching, and capacity planning.
- Support the management of Azure, Microsoft 365, Dynamics, and Business Central environments, ensuring availability, performance, and security in line with organisational requirements.
- Own day-to-day service desk operations, overseeing incident management, request fulfilment, and end-user support across the organisation to ensure consistent service quality and minimal business disruption.
- Manage the company's mobile device estate and communications network, ensuring resilience, security, and performance of business-critical systems.
- Maintain and test the company's backup and recovery programme, ensuring RTO and RPO targets are met and recovery procedures are documented and rehearsed.
- Manage relationships with third-party technology vendors and support suppliers, ensuring service levels are met and escalations are handled effectively.
Cyber Security Operations & Compliance
- Maintain the company's cyber security posture in line with the frameworks and standards set by the IT Director, including Cyber Essentials Plus and ISO 27001 controls.
- Operate and monitor the security tooling estate, responding to alerts and escalating incidents as appropriate.
- Support the delivery of the Incident Response and IT Disaster Recovery programme, including contributing to policy reviews, running tabletop exercises, and delivering staff training and awareness activities.
- Assist in maintaining the Information Security policy suite, flagging required updates to the IT Director in response to operational changes or emerging threats.
- Support the preparation of compliance evidence and documentation for regulatory requirements, including Cyber Essentials Plus recertification and supplier / framework obligations.
- Contribute to quarterly cyber security reporting by providing operational metrics, incident data, and awareness programme updates.
Digital Transformation & Project Delivery
- Act as the primary delivery resource for digital transformation projects, taking ownership of implementation once strategy and scope have been defined by the IT Director.
- Manage project plans, timelines, and stakeholder communications for IT change programmes, ensuring delivery on time and within agreed parameters.
- Coordinate the migration from legacy bespoke applications to off-the-shelf solutions, managing technical implementation, user testing, and go-live activities.
- Support the rollout of automation and AI tooling initiatives as directed, including configuration, testing, and end-user enablement.
- Provide technical input to solution design and procurement exercises, evaluating options against business requirements and presenting recommendations to the IT Director.
- Produce project documentation including implementation plans, risk logs, post-implementation reviews, and handover materials.
Team Leadership & General
- Provide day-to-day line management and support to the IT team, including task allocation, performance monitoring, and first-line development conversations.
- Maintain up-to-date technical documentation for infrastructure, systems, and processes to support operational resilience and knowledge transfer.
- Stay current with relevant technology developments and feed insights to the IT Director to support strategic planning.
- Contribute to wider IT team projects and initiatives as required, supporting the IT Director in delivering the department's objectives.
This role will involve some travel throughout the UK and occasional flexibility outside standard working hours as the needs of the business require. A full UK driving licence is essential.
