Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Hand to join our Kennels & Cattery. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional animal care, maintaining cleanliness within the kennels, and supporting the team with daily tasks. Responsibilities
- Assist with the daily care and cleaning of animals housed in the kennels, ensuring a hygienic environment at all times
- Feed, water, and monitor animals’ health and behaviour, reporting any concerns to manager.
- Maintain cleanliness of kennel areas, including disinfecting cages and equipment
- Handle heavy lifting when moving supplies, bedding, or animals within the facility
- Provide excellent customer service by interacting kindly with pet owners and visitors
- Follow health and safety protocols to ensure a safe environment for staff, animals, and visitors
Qualifications
- Previous Kennel experience or animal care background is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates
- Genuine love for animals with a caring attitude towards their wellbeing
- Strong physical fitness with the ability to perform heavy lifting when required
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanour for customer interactions
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a busy environment
- Organised with attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness and safety standards
