Role: Electrician/Electrical Engineer

VSM is a Belfast-based engineering company delivering M&E services, machinery installations, and engineering-led upgrade projects across the island of Ireland.
We support a wide range of manufacturing clients, particularly within the food and beverage sector, and work with global brands and leading processors to keep their operations running efficiently.
Our work ranges from planned and reactive maintenance to full machinery installations, line upgrades, and condition monitoring solutions designed to improve reliability and performance.
As we continue to grow, we are expanding our team to support an increasing number of projects and long-term customer partnerships.
The role:
This is a varied, hands-on role working across maintenance, installation, and project work within industrial environments.
You’ll be part of a team delivering high-quality engineering support to our clients, with responsibilities including:
- Electrical fault finding and breakdown response
- Planned and reactive maintenance
- Panel wiring and upgrades
- Machinery installation and commissioning
- Supporting wider engineering projects
This role offers strong variety and the opportunity to develop your skills across different sites, systems, and industries.
Essential criteria:
- Past experience in cable management (cable termination, installation of cable trays, cable ladders etc.) and panel wiring.
- Past experience inspecting, diagnosing and repairing 3 phase motors, control circuits, safety circuits.
- Relevant post apprenticeship level 3 or above in electrical installation of electrical systems
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certified
- A full clean UK/EU driving license
- Ability to work well under pressure as an individual and as part off a team
- Ability to read and use effectively wiring diagrams, schematics and Process & Instrumentation drawings
- Efficient and organised individual with awareness of the importance of hygiene and 'as you go' housekeeping.
Desirable criteria
- Prior experience delivering maintenance solutions in a fast paced environment
- PLC qualifications/experience
- Sound mechanical knowhow
- IPAF mewp license
- Fixed wire testing qualifications and experience
- Sound knowledge off electrical systems, automated control systems and plcs
- Food safety qualifications
- Fixed wire testing experience
- Panel design/build/installation and commissioning.

Benefits
Salary £35,000 - £40,000 depending on experience, qualifications and skills
Company vehicle (van) provided with fuel card for business use
22 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays per annum

Normal schedule
8:00 – 16:30 with paid 20 min break and unpaid 30 min lunch break
Pay: £35,000.00-£42,500.00 per year

- Belfast BT3 9JL: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
