HGV Technician

Location: Near Lincoln
Pay Rate: Up to £25.00 per hour
Shift Options: Days | Alternating Earlies & Lates | 4 on 4 off

The Opportunity

We are currently recruiting for an experienced HGV Technician to join a well-established commercial vehicle operation near Newark-on-Trent. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled technician looking for a permanent role offering flexible shift patterns, competitive pay, and long-term career stability.

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out maintenance, diagnostics, servicing, and repairs on a fleet of heavy goods vehicles, ensuring all vehicles are maintained to the highest safety and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

Perform routine servicing, maintenance, and repairs on HGVs
Carry out diagnostic fault-finding using specialist diagnostic equipment
Complete vehicle inspections, safety checks, and MOT preparations
Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic faults
Ensure all work is completed in line with manufacturer guidelines and DVSA standards
Accurately complete job cards and maintenance records
Work collaboratively with colleagues to maximise vehicle uptime and workshop efficiency

Skills & Experience Required

Previous experience as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic, or PSV Technician
Strong knowledge of commercial vehicle maintenance and repair procedures
Experience using diagnostic tools and fault-finding equipment
Relevant qualifications such as NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent are desirable
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
A proactive approach to health and safety and quality standards
