Catering Services Assistant
Start date: as soon as possible
Salary: £18,571 per annum (paid for working 35 weeks a year)
An opportunity has arisen for a hard-working, reliable, friendly and enthusiastic individual to join our onsite catering team at St Hugh’s School.
The working days for this role will be Monday to Friday inclusive, 9.00am to 5.00pm with 30 minutes unpaid break during term time. Working 35 weeks a year around term time.
Your role will be to work within the in-house catering team, collaborating closely with the team to produce freshly prepared lunches for pupils and school staff. The successful candidate will be flexible and hardworking. You will be welcomed onto an enthusiastic, collaborative and dynamic team. Previous catering experience in a similar environment is desirable although full training will be given.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- To work within the in-house catering team, collaborating closely with the team to produce freshly prepared lunches for pupils and school staff.
- Basic preparation of cold food (such as fruit platters and sandwiches).
- Setting up and clearing away of the dining area.
- Cleaning of the dining area, kitchen surfaces, cupboards, tables and equipment.
- Washing dishes, cutlery, containers etc.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines including Food Hygiene and Health and Safety policy.
- Keeping a clean catering environment.
- Working with efficiency to maintain requirements over busy lunchtimes.
- Completing requirements for food service at occasions such as meetings and sports events.
- From time to time, your role may adapt slightly but your core task remains the same; delivering the highest quality of food and service to pupils, ensuring that the offering is innovative, fresh and delicious.
