Job Summary (Purpose)
Initial course is 2 days per week for 5 weeks with future courses a possibility.
Working in both a classroom environment and some online remote delivery (if required), you will be expected to facilitate the effective and efficient learning and assessment of learners undergoing our ESOL provision.
i. To train & teach FST courses and workshops as agreed with your Line Manager.
ii. To be responsible for improvement Quality Assurance actions of your teaching and delivery, as identified in OTLA observations and 1-2-1 discussion.
Key responsibilities:
· Plan and deliver ESOL sessions prioritising spoken communication and listening skills required for real-world employment contexts.
· Teach practical language for workplace scenarios (e.g. interviews, instructions, teamwork, customer interaction, health & safety communication).
· Use role play, simulations, and task-based learning to replicate workplace environments
· Adapt delivery for low-level learners while maintaining a clear progression towards employability outcomes.
· Develop learners’ confidence in verbal communication, including pronunciation, clarity, and appropriate tone.
· Build listening comprehension using realistic audio, accents, and employer-style communication.
· Support learners to initiate conversations, ask for clarification, and engage in problem-solving discussions.
· Conduct initial and diagnostic assessments specifically targeting speaking and listening competencies.
· Embed job search elements where relevant (e.g. understanding job adverts, basic application language), but maintain primary focus on verbal communication.
· Prepare learners for interviews through structured practice, including answering questions, describing experience, and asking questions.
· Accurate input of data to Magn8 (MIS) and other systems
· Accurate and timely upload of evidence for classroom delivery
· To ensure that the FST operations are conducted in accordance with relevant legislation
· Develop valuable customer relationships and deliver a superior customer care experience
· Always maintain a positive attitude, working alongside the team to carry out tasks in line with turnaround times.
· To understand and interpret detailed syllabus/course outline information and an initial scheme of work for each course before commencement and update/maintain them as part of the course documentation files.
· Support the development of this area of curriculum provision.
· Promote British Values and Prevent to learners using FST for funded provision .
· To monitor, mark and assess learners’ work and progress and maintain such records as appropriate
· To mark the register accurately at the start of each session and use the register in the event of a fire or other emergency.
· To monitor and evaluate courses and to provide feedback to Managing Director as requested, thus taking responsibility for the quality of your teaching.
· To ensure that all equipment and facilities are used appropriately and safely.
· To ensure that the post holder pays due regard to and fully support FST policies, including, Safeguarding Equality & Diversity, Health & Safety, DDA, Quality Assurance, etc, and carry out the duties required.
Essential Requirements
Qualifications in the subject specialism (to at least Level 3 equivalence), or in-depth knowledge and substantial experience in the subject area as specified in the job description.
Teaching qualification* appropriate for working in Post 16 Sector, and/or willingness to undergo development. (A minimum of a level 3 Award in Education and Training/ 7307 / PTTLS)
Ability to work and communicate at the highest level, to think strategically and to meet KPIs
A very good knowledge of IT based systems.
Experience of coaching/mentoring people with mixed abilities
Experience of teaching/training or working with groups of adults in appropriate field.
An understanding of the principles underpinning teaching adults, i.e., planning, delivery, assessment, and evaluation of learning.
An awareness of different learning strategies and teaching methods suitable for teaching a diverse range of abilities.
Effective oral and written communication, numeracy, and interpersonal qualifications & skills to communicate effectively with staff and learners alike (to at least Level 2 and/or willingness to acquire appropriate equivalent qualification).
A commitment and ability to comply with safeguarding, Equality & Diversity, Health & Safety policies, etc.
Maintaining a positive attitude that inspires co-workers and clients to grow the business

Desirable Requirements
Preferably hold a L3 Information, Advice and Guidance qualification
TEFL or equivalent qualification
Full UK clean driving licence and use of own vehicle
