Role Purpose:
Our Support & Commissioning Engineer will deliver high-quality technical support and engineering expertise as part of the wider support team, ensuring customers receive an efficient, professional and responsive service. They will develop a strong working knowledge of Datapath’s product suite, associated hardware and software technologies, enabling them to diagnose and resolve issues effectively while contributing to continuous improvement of support processes and resources.
In addition, the post holder will play a key part in the successful installation and commissioning of Datapath video wall controller systems across the UK and Europe. Working directly with customers, systems integrators, and partners, our Support & Commissioning Engineer will deliver solutions to agreed specifications, ensuring a high standard of on-site service, system performance and customer satisfaction. Success in this role requires strong collaboration, adaptability and a commitment to delivering projects safely, efficiently and to a consistently high standard.
Role Requirements and Responsibilities:
Office-Based
- Provide high-quality technical support to customers via telephone, email and web-based channels, maintaining a professional and customer-focused approach
- Diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, ensuring timely and clear communication of progress, status updates and resolution
- Accurately record and manage all customer interactions, support cases and test results within the company’s ticket management system, maintaining a high level of detail
- Develop and maintain a strong working knowledge of Datapath products, alongside associated hardware and software technologies
- Rapidly learn new technologies and apply knowledge effectively to support customer solutions
- Prioritise and manage multiple tasks while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Contribute to the creation and continuous improvement of online support resources, including FAQs and knowledge base articles
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, delivery partners, technology vendors and internal teams
Field-Based
- Travel nationally and internationally to customer sites to carry out installation, configuration and commissioning of Datapath video wall controller systems and associated components
- Attend commissioning and handover meetings, working directly with end customers, systems integrators and distributors
- Support project delivery by managing assigned milestones and deliverables within agreed project scope
- Provide on-site technical expertise to ensure successful installation and system performance
- Deliver product demonstrations and provide training to customers, systems integrators and distributors
- Represent Datapath professionally on-site, ensuring a high standard of customer service and satisfaction
Skills and Experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
- Demonstrable interest in technology, IT, electronics, or AV systems (e.g. through education, hobbies, or work experience)
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think logically and troubleshoot issues
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks effectively
- Customer-focused approach with strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively (approximately 50% of the role), both within the UK and internationally
- Proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop new technical skills
- Well-rounded technical support background, including AV or similar technologies, networking fundamentals, system configuration, troubleshooting, basic coding, documentation, and any additional European languages would also be advantageous
