We are looking to appoint a number of full time (37 hours) Team Leaders at Aldine House Secure Children's Home. As a Team Leader you will provide the highest standards of care to our young people. We are licensed to provide care, education and support to ten children and young people aged between 10 and 18. As a specialist service, we provide a critical first-line child protection and public protection service.
We work with young people who have been placed in secure accommodation either because they are deemed to be too vulnerable to be placed in an open residential placement, they have been sentenced by the courts or they have been placed with us on remand. Each young person presents a distinct and significant challenge to our staff who work together to build relationships and help young people make progress. All of our staff are required to show high levels of resilience and resourcefulness in order to work successfully with our young people.
With previous experience within the youth justice arena and residential childcare you will be responsible for the day to day management of a team of residential support workers and to ensure that a high standard of care, control, support and security is delivered to all staff and young people within the Home. You will be responsible for the case management and have some experience of staff supervision and deployment.
Team Leaders provide positive and assertive parenting that establishes clear boundaries, but is entirely child-centred. Though you do not need to be a parent you will have significant experience in residential childcare, youth justice, special education or a similar field. This will enable you to work with individuals and small groups of young people to ensure their day to day wellbeing, deliver leisure activities, group work and 1:1 key sessions.
If successful, you will work according to a rota pattern that includes regular weekend working and Bank Holidays. You will be paid at an enhanced rate for ‘unsociable hours’.

If you are appointed to this role, your starting salary will be at the bottom of the grade. If you provide payslip evidence that your basic pay is greater than the bottom of the grade, we will consider starting you at the point of minimum advantage within the grade.
