We’re looking for a People & Talent Assistant to help create a warm and engaging experience for everyone who joins and works with Derbyshire Wildlife Trust. Our people are central to everything we do. Without their passion and commitment, we couldn’t deliver our mission to build a wilder Derbyshire where people and wildlife thrive together.

In this role, you’ll help make sure every colleague feels supported, welcomed and connected to that purpose.

A big part of your role will be supporting bringing our recruitment processes to life. You’ll help craft a smooth, friendly and inclusive experience for candidates - from posting roles and managing applications to coordinating interviews and supporting onboarding. Your work will help ensure that every new starter feels excited to join us and confident in their first steps at the Trust.

You’ll also play an active part in keeping our HR systems accurate and running smoothly and supporting colleagues throughout their journey with the Trust. Whether you’re updating records, answering queries or helping deliver wellbeing and culture initiatives, you’ll be contributing to a positive, consistent experience for everyone.

We’re looking for someone who is organised, people‑focused and excited about supporting a smooth, positive experience for colleagues and candidates. You have solid administrative experience, with the ability to manage a varied workload, stay organised and keep a close eye on detail.
You’re comfortable using digital systems, keeping accurate records and learning new tools as needed - and you’re curious about how HR and recruitment processes work.

You’re open to developing your skills and either hold or would be willing to work towards CIPD Level 3 as part of your professional growth.

This role will be based at our office in Middleton although a balance of home and office working will be allowed. We are a local charity so applicants should be easily able to access our office and other locations around the county.
