Full job description

Job Overview

We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Chef/Cook to join the team at Maple Leaf Café, located within Canada Fields Caravan Park. The role involves preparing and cooking high-quality café-style food including breakfasts, lunches, and daily specials while maintaining excellent hygiene and kitchen standards.

You will play a key role in ensuring customers receive fresh, well-presented meals and enjoy a welcoming dining experience.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and cook menu items including breakfasts, lunches, snacks, and specials
Ensure food is prepared to a high standard of quality and presentation
Maintain a clean, organised, and safe kitchen environment
Follow food hygiene, health and safety, and allergen regulations
Assist with stock control, ordering, and reducing waste
Work efficiently during busy periods such as weekends and holidays
Support menu development and suggest new dishes or specials
Ensure all food is stored and handled correctly

Skills & Experience

Previous experience as a chef, cook, or kitchen assistant in a café, restaurant, or similar environment
Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen
Good understanding of food hygiene and safety standards
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Good time management and organisational skills
Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate (preferred but not essential)

Reliable and punctual
Passion for good food and quality ingredients
Flexible with working hours including weekends and peak holiday periods
