We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Teacher of Maths to join our thriving team at Cottenham Village College. This is an exciting opportunity to teach within a supportive and ambitious Maths department, delivering a high-quality curriculum that enables every pupil to succeed and develop a genuine love of learning.

Whether you are an experienced practitioner or an Early Career Teacher, you will be supported to develop your teaching practice and make a meaningful impact on pupils’ progress and outcomes.

Key responsibilities

As a Teacher of Maths, you will:

Deliver high-quality lessons that engage, challenge and inspire learners
Plan and teach a well-structured curriculum that meets the needs of all pupils
Assess, monitor and report on student progress in line with academy expectations
Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes excellent behaviour for learning
Provide timely and effective feedback to support pupil progress
Support pupils of all abilities, including those with SEND and those at risk of underachievement
Contribute to departmental planning, curriculum development and continuous improvement
Participate in enrichment opportunities and wider school life
Work collaboratively with colleagues to share best practice and raise standards
Fulfil pastoral responsibilities as a form tutor, supporting pupils’ personal development

These responsibilities align with the expectation to provide outstanding learning experiences, promote high standards of behaviour, and support pupil progress across a range of needs.

Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a strong subject knowledge in Mathematics
Has the ability to plan and deliver engaging, high-quality lessons
Demonstrates a commitment to raising achievement for all pupils
Has strong knowledge of the curriculum and assessment practices
Can create a stimulating learning environment that supports progress
Is reflective and committed to their own professional development
Works effectively as part of a team and contributes positively to the wider school
Has high expectations of behaviour and achievement
Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong curriculum knowledge, effective teaching and assessment skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement and collaboration.
