Role Profile
This is a ‘hands-on leadership role’ within our company. This role is critical to our customer journey and experience and in turn our brand. We are the leading luxury brand within our sector, a matter of great pride and importance for our customers and our company
You will be responsible for leading the direction, coordination and implementation of all transport, logistics and goods movement matters within Hartley Botanic across multiple sites. This includes organising schedules & routes, ensuring that vehicles and drivers are legally compliant, managing third party Global shipping partners, managing costs and budgets, ensuring that everyone within the team is fully aware of their duties
Key Responsibilities
· Responsible and accountable for our Operator’s License
· Customer delivery fulfilment (Home, port, other) Take the lead role in planning, costing, and allocating routes and vehicles, in coordination with our Production team while ensuring sufficient flexibility is in place to meet the varying and changing needs of customers.
· Ensure that all in house vehicles are compliant with all legal, regulatory, and contractual requirements, where necessary escalating any identified issues recommending solutions and ensuring remedial action is taken. Develop and implement a proactive, planned, and structured approach to the maintenance of vehicles, keeping within the designated budget and ensuring all vehicles used are fit for purpose and the customer experience is of a high standard.
· Ensuring transport staff deliver the luxury service experience appropriate to the changing needs of customers in line with relevant guidance and individual risk assessments.
· Manage and develop a team of drivers, who may be working remotely, either alone or in small teams, in order to deliver a high-quality service to customers.
· Responsible for safe loading of export containers and third-party European collections ensuring Health & Safety compliance on the public highway, planning available resource, organising the workforce ensuring timeframe deadlines are upheld and documented with photographs.
· Responsible for external warehouse delivery and collection, documented with photographs.
· To take the lead in resolving unforeseen problems as they arise ensuring appropriate resolution of these and to utilise the learning to plan for future similar scenarios.
· To work as a member of the management team, undertaking delegated tasks and responsibilities in line with the emerging needs and operational requirements of the service, including where necessary the contracting out of transport provision to other transport providers.
· To ensure high standards of service delivery through the consistent application of recognised standards and established policies, procedures, and practices.
· Responsible for Health & Safety in the transport yard and during vehicle loading / unloading, documenting with photographs.
· To undertake any other duties related to the role, which may be delegated by the Customer Fulfilment Manager
· Has ownership of the transport yard operation being responsible for security, cleanliness, general maintenance and as such will police other departments that leave items and equipment in the yard, documenting with photographs.
· To liaise with Sales Team to provide quotes to deliver goods throughout UK, Europe & R.O.W
· Ensure all invoices are checked against quotes before approving for Finance team.
· Develop the understanding of our product and which vehicles can carry specific structures in order to liaise with customer service in regards to booking customer orders.

What You’ll Need
To be considered as a Transport Manager, you will demonstrate experience in:
· Directing and managing all transport activities
· Developing fulfilment relationships
· Excellent communication skills, tenacity, and a result-oriented mind-set
· Responsibility for transport costs
· Experience of negotiating fleet costs and contracts (Lease, PCH, PCP)
· Understanding of climate change issues by implementing transport strategies and monitoring Hartley Botanic’s carbon footprint
· Valid CPC
