Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Medicines Counter Assistant to join our pharmacy team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, assisting with medication dispensing, and supporting patient care activities. This role offers an opportunity to work in a professional environment where attention to detail and compassion are highly valued. The position is paid and suitable for individuals eager to develop their skills within the healthcare sector.

Responsibilities

Assist customers at the medicines counter with their enquiries and purchases
Supply over-the-counter medications accurately and efficiently
Support pharmacy staff with medication administration tasks under supervision
Maintain organised and clean work areas in accordance with health and safety standards
Ensure confidentiality of patient information at all times
Provide guidance on medication usage and general health advice where appropriate
Support stock management, including inventory checks and restocking shelves

Requirements

Previous retail or customer service experience is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates
Knowledge of medication administration and patient care principles is advantageous but full training will be provided
Excellent organisational skills with a keen eye for detail
Strong communication skills and a friendly, professional manner
Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a busy environment
Commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety within the pharmacy setting
