Full job description

Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Night Care Assistant to join our care home team. This role involves providing high-quality support and assistance to residents during overnight hours, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being throughout the night. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be attentive to residents’ needs, and have a genuine interest in delivering person-centred care. Previous experience in care home or home care settings is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided. This is a paid position suitable for individuals committed to making a positive difference in residents’ lives during the night shift.

Responsibilities

Monitor residents’ safety and well-being throughout the night, responding promptly to their needs or emergencies
Assist residents with personal care tasks such as toileting, mobility, and comfort checks
Follow individualised care plans to ensure each resident’s specific needs are met effectively
Maintain accurate records of residents’ conditions and any incidents that occur during the shift
Support residents in maintaining a comfortable and safe environment
Communicate effectively with team members and healthcare professionals regarding residents’ status or concerns
Ensure the care environment remains clean, tidy, and secure at all times
Administer medication as required in accordance with care protocols (training provided)

Skills

Valid driving licence is desirable for supporting residents with outings or appointments
Experience working within a care home or providing home care is advantageous but not mandatory
Ability to understand and follow detailed care plans tailored to individual residents
Good IT skills for maintaining accurate records and documentation
Excellent communication skills to engage effectively with residents, colleagues, and healthcare professionals
Compassionate approach with a genuine interest in caring for vulnerable adults during overnight hours
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail to ensure resident safety and comfort overnight

Pay: £13.45-£13.50 per hour
